The first Chima restaurant originated in Uberlandia, Brazil. In 2003, the Silva family introduced a new style of dining and superior service to Fort Lauderdale, FL. Chima Steakhouse, named after chimarrao, a traditional drink of Brazil, that symbolizes hospitality and friendship–continues its expansion into the Southeast.
At its newest restaurant, in Orlando, FL, ownership wanted to elevate its wine offerings by showing off its collection carefully chosen to perfectly pair with its grilled meats. Referred by the local design-build contractor, RCC Associates, Harmonic Wine Displays was given the task of designing, fabricating and installing a wine room that would hold 5,000 bottles. Chima’s owners’ main focus was capacity.
A wine room was designed by Harmonic Wine Displays that was 10 ft. tall and required a system of rolling ladders to make every bottle accessible to staff.

Project Highlights:
Harmonic Wine Displays designed a 10 ft. X 20 ft. wine room. When the general contractor changed the ceiling plan from a drop ceiling to a fixed ceiling, Harmonic Wine Displays had to move up the install date significantly. The installation team was required to install the room weeks in advance so that the new ceiling could then be fitted around the wine room.
Due to the new ceiling, the Harmonic Wine Displays team noticed there would be no access to service the refrigeration and lighting systems. Proactively the owners were contacted and the issue resolved by adding an access panel above the door to the new wine room.

Harmonic Wine Displays was willing and able to accommodate the customer’s needs, both Chima’s owners and RCC’s general contractor, and still deliver the wine display they wanted on time.
